Foundation News:   Tim reported that The Foundation is making a donation to Doctors Care.   Also Tim said the Foundation needs a new member because Jim Rees is leaving to move to Arizona at the end of the month.  Scott Manley jumped on the chance so the Foundation Board is full again.  Thanks Scott, you be the man.

The Foundation still has a cemetery plot or two for sale. They are located at Chapel Hill Cemetery. If interested, contact one of the Foundation members or me and I will forward your contact to one of them.   You can view more details on Craig’s list, click here.

Announcements:  Carl Duncan returned to lunch looking as good as ever.  Good to see you back Carl.

As mentioned above, Jim Rees is leaving us to move to Arizona.  Jim has been a good and faithful member since February 2005 and will be missed.  Maybe we can get him to be the SOD before he leaves?   (Twist his arm a little).

Doug asked if anyone had any old blankets or coats (new will work) that can be donated to the poor of Arapahoe Co.  Some of the students at Englewood H.S. are collecting them to be given out so if you have anything….anything at all, bring them to lunch next week.

Dick Mason has new King Soopers cards for $25.  The club receives %5 back when you use them but don’t let the amount on them get to zero or the card is no good and you would have to buy another one.  You can add more value to the cards, just ask Dick.

The Raffle web pages have been approved by the State so tickets will go on sale via the web and by hand.  For all the details, read up on them so you can answer any questions your friends, relatives, and neighbors may have.  Hard Tickets can be purchased at the May sale on May 19th or 20th. Web site tickets will go on sale March 23, 2018 and online sales will end on May 15, 2018. Sign up early and let your friends know about these great trips.  Get an e-mail list ready to send out, it’s up to us to advertise as much as we can.

New Web link…    Karie’s business is  and she built the web page for A1scuba

Put your thinking caps on and come up with ideas for programs.  Our Directors are running out of ideas.  Also, how about some club events?  Miley mentioned one at Top Golf.  Any other ideas?  We have the K-1 go-cart event next month with a sing-up sheet maybe next week.  Don won’t be there (he will be in Utah driving his BIG buggy) so someone else will have a chance to win…..Maybe even Pat this year but he may want to go practice first.

Sertoman of the Day:   Chad Kasson wasn’t scheduled to be the SOD but since he was here today, we twisted his arm and he gladly stepped up.  He reminded us of his back ground, and then he gave us some insight about the new tax law.  Looks like most of us may see a couple more dollars in our pockets next year since the new law just started this year.

Chad Kasson

Chad was born 1974 in Columbus, Ohio.  As a child the family moved to a historic area in Chicago.  In 1992 the family moved to Colorado and Chad graduated from Chatfield High in 1993.  In 2015 Chad took his wife by the old house and met the people that just bought it and they invited him in so he told his story of living there to them.

Chad went to enlist in the Navy but they wanted him in the nuclear program but he didn’t like that idea so he went to CU and their Navy ROTC program in nursing but he didn’t really like being around sick people after volunteering at a hospital.  He then did some traveling and odd jobs but at 26 he went back to school and graduated from MSU in Denver.  He met his wife there and lives in the Littleton area.  Chad is a CPA, working at the same company that Mason retired from…..Mason brought him into the club.  Listen to Chad Kasson.mp3
