Fines:  Don and Gary for leaving club….Also a cell phone violation.

Announcements:     Gary Athey and Don Smith made their last visit as members of Arapahoe Sertoma Club today.

Last week Gary was awarded the Sertoman of the Year award for all his hard and dedicated work putting Bio’s together, building a rack for the banner, a Welcome Sign to put by the door to the meeting room and many other selfless acts to make the club a better club.  He is stepping down as the Chairman of the Board and Pat McKim is taking over that duty.

Don is stepping down from doing the Newsletter and maintaining the Web page.  Whoever takes over all or part of those jobs will receive help from Don.  The Newsletter is easy if done just as an E-mail version.  The Web is a bit more complicated.

Gary and Don both want to wish the Club the best going forward and we have both enjoyed our time in the club, getting to know all of you and helping out where ever we could.

Rick Jacobus said it’s Freedom Week time again and wants to know how many schools we can support.  You will be hearing more about this at the next few meetings.

Sertoman of the Day:   “The King” aka Orian Hunter, did what he said he didn’t want to do again a couple years ago and that was stand up in front of the club AGAIN and tell his life story AGAIN and put almost all of us to sleep AGAIN because we have heard it all BEFORE for let’s see… many years has it been?  Oh, I think he said about 25 years.

But, I accidentally (intentionally?) forgot about that a few months back and put his name in the rotation for SOD.  Well, either he forgot or just really really wanted to tell us his story again for which he rambled on and on and on…. (I think I heard someone snoring half way through).

But, Orian got up there and entertained us for about 40 minutes telling us all kinds of things (we had heard before) and when he was done, I think we all may have learned a little more about him.  If we didn’t or missed part of the speech because we were sleeping, you can get caught up by listening to the audio below.  It’s all documented so we don’t need no stinking whistle blower to pop the lid off of this can of worms.  Thanks Orian for stepping up to the plate.    Listen to Orian Hunter.mp3
